If you want to give something back to society, let it be through education. Educate even one person in a family, and it cultivates critical thinking which can transform the entire family into a thoughtful unit.

These are the guiding words of our father, Haji Sheikh Ahmad, which inspired us to initiate this scholarship program.
This initiative holds great significance for the National Group because it serves as encouragement for the next generation. What began in 2010 under the guidance of our father with a scholarship fund of ₹50,000 has now reached ₹45,70,500 in 2024 — a truly joyous achievement, said Yusuf Haidar, one of the proprietors of the National Groups, during the scholarship distribution ceremony held on Sunday, June 8, 2024, at TAPCMS. The scholarships were awarded to students who scored high marks in SSLC and PUC exams.

Speakers emphasized the need to build an egalitarian society beyond caste, religion, and gender. Students were encouraged to be responsible citizens by limiting social media use, reading meaningful books, and upholding humane values. Parents were advised to engage with their children like friends and support their aspirations with care.

D.S. Abdul Rahman urged students to seize opportunities and grow through their achievements, noting the National Institution’s ongoing contributions to arts, literature, sports, and education.

Chief guest Mr. Jayaprakash, GM of Canara Bank, highlighted education as a lifelong asset, citing Dr. B.R. Ambedkar as an example. He also introduced the 'Vidyasagar Loan Scheme' for underprivileged and female students, promoting accessible higher education.

Among the top scorers honored in the event were Suchinth, a science stream student from Vagadevi College in Tirthahalli; Preethu H.M., a commerce student from Sahyadri College, Tirthahalli; and Rakshita, an arts stream student from Government Junior College.

A total of 307 meritorious students from the Taluk received scholarships from the National Group.  Present at the event were Ibrahim Sharif of the National Institution, Suleman from Super Bazaar, Abdul Kalam Azad, Mohideen Kabir, well-wishers of the National Groups including Manjunath Mallya from Tirthahalli, Senior Manager of Canara Bank Mohammad Sabir, and staff of the National Institution.

Scholarship recipients and their parents shared their heartfelt feedback during the event. The program was hosted by Prashanth.

Another chief guest, Mr. R. Devaraj, General Manager of Canara Bank, Shivamogga district, stated, "There is no greater wealth than education, and Canara Bank will always stand by your side for education."
